Gulab Jamun is a popular Indian dessert made of deep-fried milk solids soaked in sugar syrup. These sweet, soft, and melt-in-your-mouth balls are a delight for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • 3-4 tbsp milk
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Saffron strands and chopped pistachios for garnish
  1. In a bowl, mix the milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda.
  2. Add ghee and mix well.
  3. Gradually add milk to form a soft dough.
  4. Divide the dough into small equal-sized portions and roll them into smooth balls.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and fry the balls on low heat until they turn golden brown.
  6. In a separate saucepan, combine sugar, water, and cardamom powder. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes to make the sugar syrup.
  7. Remove the sugar syrup from heat.
  8. Gently drop the fried Gulab Jamun balls into the warm sugar syrup and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
  9. Garnish with saffron strands and chopped pistachios before serving. Enjoy the delicious Gulab Jamun warm or at room temperature!
