Chicken Tikka Masala is a popular Indian dish made of marinated and grilled chunks of chicken in a rich, creamy, and flavorful tomato-based sauce. It's a comforting and satisfying dish that pairs perfectly with rice or naan bread.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, garam masala, chili powder, garlic, and ginger. Add chicken pieces, coat well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Thread marinated chicken onto skewers and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook until soft and translucent.
  4. Add diced tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked chicken tikka pieces to the sauce, simmer for a few more minutes, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro leaves. Enjoy with rice or naan bread!
