Miso Soup

A traditional and comforting Japanese soup made with savory miso paste, tofu, seaweed, and green onions.
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbsp miso paste
- 1/2 block tofu, cubed
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup seaweed, soaked and sliced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Optional: dashi (Japanese soup stock)
- In a pot, bring water to a simmer. If using dashi, add it at this point.
- In a small bowl, mix miso paste with a ladle of hot water from the pot and stir until smooth.
- Add the tofu cubes to the pot and let them cook for a few minutes.
- Add the miso mixture to the pot and stir well.
- Add sliced green onions and soaked seaweed to the soup.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, being careful not to let the soup boil.
- Turn off the heat and drizzle with sesame oil.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
