Salsa Verde is a tangy and flavorful Mexican salsa made with tomatillos, jalapeños, onions, cilantro, and lime juice. It's perfect as a dip for tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos and grilled meats.
Ingredients
- 1 pound tomatillos, husked and rinsed
- 1-2 jalapeños, stemmed (remove seeds for a milder salsa)
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt to taste
- Roast the Vegetables: Place the tomatillos and jalapeƱos on a baking sheet. Broil in the oven until charred, about 5-7 minutes.
- Blend: In a blender or food processor, combine the roasted tomatillos, jalapeƱos, onion, cilantro, and lime juice. Blend until smooth.
- Adjust Seasoning: Taste the salsa and add salt as needed.
- Chill and Serve: Transfer the salsa to a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve chilled with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite dishes. Enjoy!
