A classic Chinese-American dish of beef and broccoli stir-fried in a savory sauce. This recipe results in tender beef slices and perfectly cooked broccoli that are full of flavor.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Steamed rice, for serving
  1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
  3. Add the thinly sliced beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and stir-fry the garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  5. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to turn bright green.
  6. Return the beef to the pan, then pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli.
  7. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened and the beef is cooked to your liking.
  8. Drizzle with sesame oil and toss to combine.
  9. Serve the beef and broccoli over steamed rice. Enjoy!
