Beef and Broccoli

A classic Chinese-American dish of beef and broccoli stir-fried in a savory sauce. This recipe results in tender beef slices and perfectly cooked broccoli that are full of flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Steamed rice, for serving
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
- Add the thinly sliced beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and stir-fry the garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to turn bright green.
- Return the beef to the pan, then pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened and the beef is cooked to your liking.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and toss to combine.
- Serve the beef and broccoli over steamed rice. Enjoy!
