Ingredients
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- Chopped parsley for garnish
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
