Ingredients
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Chopped parsley for garnish
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheese until melted.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
  8. Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top.
  10. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  11. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
